Song of Solomon 5:7

7 aThe watchmen found me
as they went about in the city;
they beat me, they bruised me,
they took away my veil,
those watchmen of the walls.

Isaiah 21:6-8

6For thus the Lord said to me:
Go, set a watchman;
let him announce what he sees.
7When he sees riders, horsemen in pairs,
riders on donkeys, riders on camels,
let him listen diligently,
very diligently.”
8Then he who saw cried out:

cUpon a watchtower I stand, O Lord,

Isaiah 21:11-12

Watchman, what time of the night?
Watchman, what time of the night?”
12The watchman says:
Morning comes, and also gthe night.
If you will inquire, hinquire;
come back again.”

Isaiah 56:10

10 iHis watchmen are blind;
they are all without knowledge;

loving to slumber.

Isaiah 62:6

6 On your walls, O Jerusalem,
I have set kwatchmen;
all the day and all the night
they shall never be silent.
You who put the Lord in remembrance,
take no rest,

Ezekiel 3:17

17 lSon of man, mI have made you a watchman for the house of Israel. Whenever you hear a word from my mouth, you shall ngive them warning from me.

Ezekiel 33:2-9

2 oSon of man, speak to pyour people and say to them, If qI bring the sword upon a land, and the people of the land take a man from among them, and make him their rwatchman, 3and if he sees the sword coming upon the land and sblows the trumpet and warns the people, 4then if anyone who hears the sound of the trumpet does not take warning, and the sword comes and takes him away, this blood shall be upon his own head. 5 uHe heard the sound of the trumpet and did not take warning; his blood shall be upon himself. But if he had taken warning, he would have saved his life. 6 vBut if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet, so that the people are not warned, and the sword comes and takes any one of them, wthat person is taken away in his iniquity, but his blood I will require at the watchman’s hand.

7 x“So you, yson of man, I have made a watchman for the house of Israel. zWhenever you hear a word from my mouth, you shall give them warning from me. 8 aaIf I say to the wicked, O wicked one, you shall surely die, aband you do not speak to warn the wicked to turn from his way, acthat wicked person shall die in his iniquity, but his blood I will require at your hand. 9 adBut if you warn the wicked to turn from his way, and he does not turn from his way, aethat person shall die in his iniquity, afbut you will have delivered your soul.

Hebrews 13:17

17Obey agyour leaders and submit to them, ahfor they are keeping watch over your souls, as those who will have to aigive an account. ajLet them do this with joy and not with groaning, for that would be of no advantage to you.
