Song of Solomon 8:5

5 aWho is that coming up from the wilderness,
leaning on her beloved?
Under the apple tree I awakened you.
There your mother was in labor with you;
there she who bore you was in labor.

2In that day bthe branch of the Lord shall be beautiful and glorious, and cthe fruit of the land shall be the pride and honor of the survivors of Israel.

Ezekiel 17:23-24

23 dOn the mountain height of Israel will I plant it, that it may bear branches and produce fruit and become a noble cedar. eAnd under it will dwell every kind of bird; in the shade of its branches birds of every sort will nest. 24And all the trees of the field shall know that I am the Lord; fI bring low the high tree, and make high the low tree, dry up gthe green tree, and make hthe dry tree flourish. iI am the Lord; I have spoken, and I will do it.”

John 15:1-8

I Am the True Vine

1I am the jtrue vine, and my Father is kthe vinedresser. 2 lEvery branch in me that does not bear fruit mhe takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, nthat it may bear more fruit. 3Already oyou are clean pbecause of the word that I have spoken to you. 4 qAbide rin me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. 5I am the vine; syou are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that tbears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. 6If anyone does not abide in me uhe is thrown away like a branch and withers; vand the branches are gathered, thrown into the fire, and burned. 7If wyou abide in me, and my words abide in you, xask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. 8 yBy this my Father is glorified, that you zbear much fruit and so prove to be my disciples.
