The Whole Armor of God
10Finally, pbe strong in the Lord and in qthe strength of his might. 11 rPut on sthe whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against tthe schemes of the devil. 12For uwe do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against vthe rulers, against the authorities, against wthe cosmic powers over xthis present darkness, against ythe spiritual forces of evil zin the heavenly places. 13Therefore aatake up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in abthe evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. 14Stand therefore, achaving fastened on the belt of truth, and adhaving put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15and, aeas shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. 16In all circumstances take up afthe shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all agthe flaming darts of ahthe evil one; 17and take aithe helmet of salvation, and ajthe sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, 18praying akat all times alin the Spirit, amwith all prayer and supplication. To that end, ankeep alert with all perseverance, making aosupplication for all the saints,1 Thessalonians 5:8-9
8But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, aphaving put on the breastplate of aqfaith and love, and for a helmet the hope of salvation. 9For God has not destined us for arwrath, but asto obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ,1 Timothy 1:18
