Zechariah 13:9

9And aI will put this third into the fire,
and refine them as one refines silver,
and test them as gold is tested.
bThey will call upon my name,
and cI will answer them.
dI will say, ‘They are my people’;
and they will say, ‘The Lord is my God.’”

Matthew 8:20

20And Jesus said to him, Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay his head.”

1 Corinthians 4:9-13

9For I think that God has exhibited us apostles as last of all, elike men sentenced to death, because we fhave become a spectacle to the world, to angels, and to men. 10 gWe are fools for Christ’s sake, but hyou are wise in Christ. iWe are weak, but you are strong. You are held in honor, but we in disrepute. 11To the present hour jwe hunger and thirst, we are poorly dressed and kbuffeted and lhomeless, 12and we mlabor, working with our own hands. nWhen reviled, we bless; owhen persecuted, we endure; 13when slandered, we entreat. pWe have become, and are still, like the scum of the world, qthe refuse of all things.

2 Corinthians 11:23-27

23Are they rservants of Christ? sI am a better one—I am talking like a madmanwith far greater labors, tfar more imprisonments, uwith countless beatings, and voften near death. 24Five times I received at the hands of the Jews the wforty lashes less one. 25Three times I was xbeaten with rods. yOnce I was stoned. Three times I zwas shipwrecked; a night and a day I was adrift at sea; 26on frequent journeys, in danger from rivers, danger from robbers, aadanger from my own people, abdanger from Gentiles, acdanger in the city, danger in the wilderness, danger at sea, danger from false brothers; 27 adin toil and hardship, through many a sleepless night, aein hunger and thirst, often without food,
Or  often in fasting
in cold and exposure.

2 Corinthians 12:10

10 agFor the sake of Christ, then, ahI am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For aiwhen I am weak, then I am strong.

Hebrews 12:1-3

Jesus, Founder and Perfecter of Our Faith

1Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and ajsin which clings so closely, and aklet us run alwith endurance the race that is amset before us, 2looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, anwho for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising aothe shame, and apis seated at the right hand of the throne of God.

Do Not Grow Weary

3 aqConsider him who endured from sinners such hostility against himself, so that you may not grow weary or arfainthearted.
