Zechariah 13:9

9And aI will put this third into the fire,
and refine them as one refines silver,
and test them as gold is tested.
bThey will call upon my name,
and cI will answer them.
dI will say, ‘They are my people’;
and they will say, ‘The Lord is my God.’”

Romans 9:4-6

4They are eIsraelites, and to them belong fthe adoption, gthe glory, hthe covenants, ithe giving of the law, jthe worship, and kthe promises. 5To them belong lthe patriarchs, and from their race, according to the flesh, is the Christ, mwho is God over all, nblessed forever. Amen.

6But it is not as though the word of God has failed. For not all who are descended from Israel belong to Israel,

Romans 9:25-26

25As indeed he says in Hosea,

o“Those who were not my people I will callmy people,’
and her who was not beloved I will call ‘beloved.’”
26 pAnd in the very place where it was said to them, ‘You are not my people,’
there they will be called qsons of the living God.’”

Romans 11:1-12

The Remnant of Israel

1I ask, then, rhas God rejected his people? By no means! For sI myself am an Israelite, a descendant of Abraham,
Or one of the offspring of Abraham
a member of the tribe of Benjamin.
2 uGod has not rejected his people whom he vforeknew. Do you not know what the Scripture says of Elijah, how he appeals to God against Israel? 3 wLord, they have killed your prophets, they have demolished your altars, and I alone am left, and they seek my life.” 4But what is God’s reply to him? x“I have kept for myself seven thousand men who have not bowed the knee to Baal.” 5So too at the present time there is ya remnant, chosen by grace. 6 zBut if it is by grace, it is no longer on the basis of works; otherwise grace would no longer be grace.

7What then? aaIsrael failed to obtain what it was seeking. The elect obtained it, but the rest abwere hardened, 8as it is written,

acGod gave them a spirit of stupor,
adeyes that would not see
and ears that would not hear,
down to this very day.”
9And David says,

ae“Let their table become a snare and a trap,
a stumbling block and a retribution for them;
10let their eyes be darkened so that they cannot see,
and bend their backs forever.”

Gentiles Grafted In

11So I ask, did they stumble in order that they might fall? By no means! Rather, through their trespass afsalvation has come to the Gentiles, so as to make Israel jealous. 12Now if their trespass means riches for the world, and if their failure means riches for the Gentiles, how much more will their full inclusion
Greek  their fullness
mean!

1 Peter 2:9

9But you are aha chosen race, aia royal ajpriesthood, aka holy nation, ala people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you amout of darkness into anhis marvelous light.
