8 And the word of the Lord came to Zechariah, saying, 9 “Thus says the Lord of hosts, ^aRender true judgments, show kindness and mercy to one another, 10 ^bdo not oppress the widow, the fatherless, the sojourner, ^cor the poor, and ^dlet none of you devise evil against another in your heart.” 11 But ^ethey refused to pay attention ^fand turned a stubborn shoulder and stopped their ears that they might not hear. ^{▼▼Hebrew and made their ears too heavy to hear} 12 ^hThey made their hearts diamond-hard ⁱlest they should hear the law and the words that the Lord of hosts had sent ^jby his Spirit through ^kthe former prophets. ^lTherefore great anger came from the Lord of hosts.

Matthew 21:34-40

34 When the season for fruit drew near, he sent his servants ^{▼▼Greek bondservants; also verses 35, 36} to the tenants ⁿto get his fruit. 35 ^oAnd the tenants took his servants and beat one, killed another, and ^pstoned another. 36 ^qAgain he sent other servants, more than the first. And they did the same to them. 37 Finally he sent his son to them, saying, ‘They will respect my son.’ 38 But when the tenants saw the son, they said to themselves, ^r‘This is the heir. Come, ^slet us kill him and have his inheritance.’ 39 And they took him and ^tthrew him out of the vineyard and killed him. 40 ^uWhen therefore the owner of the vineyard comes, what will he do to those tenants?”

Matthew 23:37

Lament over Jerusalem

37 ^v“O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that ^wkills the prophets and stones those who are sent to it! How often would I have ^xgathered ^yyour children together ^zas a hen gathers her brood ^aaunder her wings, and ^abyou were not willing!

Luke 20:10-12

Acts 13:27
