Zechariah 7:8-12

8And the word of the Lord came to Zechariah, saying, 9Thus says the Lord of hosts, aRender true judgments, show kindness and mercy to one another, 10 bdo not oppress the widow, the fatherless, the sojourner, cor the poor, and dlet none of you devise evil against another in your heart.” 11But ethey refused to pay attention fand turned a stubborn shoulder and stopped their ears that they might not hear.

12 hThey made their hearts diamond-hard ilest they should hear the law and the words that the Lord of hosts had sent jby his Spirit through kthe former prophets. lTherefore great anger came from the Lord of hosts.

Matthew 21:34-40

34When the season for fruit drew near, he sent his servants

to the tenants nto get his fruit.
35 oAnd the tenants took his servants and beat one, killed another, and pstoned another. 36 qAgain he sent other servants, more than the first. And they did the same to them. 37Finally he sent his son to them, saying, ‘They will respect my son.’ 38But when the tenants saw the son, they said to themselves, rThis is the heir. Come, slet us kill him and have his inheritance.’ 39And they took him and tthrew him out of the vineyard and killed him. 40 uWhen therefore the owner of the vineyard comes, what will he do to those tenants?”

Acts 13:27

27For those who live in Jerusalem and their rulers, because apthey did not recognize him nor understand aqthe utterances of the prophets, which are read every Sabbath, arfulfilled them by condemning him.
