Zechariah 7:9-14

9 “Thus says the Lord of hosts, ^aRender true judgments, show kindness and mercy to one another, 10 ^bdo not oppress the widow, the fatherless, the sojourner, ^cor the poor, and ^dlet none of you devise evil against another in your heart.” 11 But ^ethey refused to pay attention ^fand turned a stubborn shoulder and stopped their ears that they might not hear. ^{▼▼Hebrew and made their ears too heavy to hear} 12 ^hThey made their hearts diamond-hard ⁱlest they should hear the law and the words that the Lord of hosts had sent ^jby his Spirit through ^kthe former prophets. ^lTherefore great anger came from the Lord of hosts. 13 ^m“As I ^{▼▼Hebrew he} called, and they would not hear, ^oso they called, and I would not hear,” says the Lord of hosts, 14 ^p“and I scattered them with a whirlwind among all ^qthe nations that they had not known. ^rThus the land they left was desolate, ^sso that no one went to and fro, ^tand the pleasant land was made desolate.”
