זֹאת הַפַּעַם הַשְּׁלִישִׁית אֲשֶׁר אָבוֹא אֲלֵיכֶם עַל־פִּי שְׁנַיִם עֵדִים אוֹ שְׁלשָׁה עֵדִים יָקוּם כָּל־דָּבָר׃
aThis is the
third time that I am
coming to you.

n the ▼testimony of two or three witnesses every matter shall be confirmed.

מִקֹּדֶם אָמַרְתִּי בִּהְיוֹתִי אֶצְלְכֶם בַּפַּעַם הַשֵּׁנִית וּמִקֹּדֶם אֲנִי אֹמֵר וְכֹתֵב עַתָּה בְּרָחֳקִי מִכֶּם לַאֲשֶׁר חָטְאוּ לִפְנֵי מִזֶּה וּלְכֹל הַנִּשְׁאָרִים כִּי־בְשׁוּבִי לָבוֹא לֹא אָחוּס׃
I have
previously said when I was
present the
second time, and though
now absent I
say in advance to
those who have
dsinned in the past and to
all the
rest as well, that
eif I
come again I will not
fspare anyone,

יַעַן בַּקֶּשְׁכֶם לִבְחֹן אֶת־הַמָּשִׁיחַ הַמְדַבֵּר בִּי אֲשֶׁר אֵינֶנּוּ חַלָּשׁ לָכֶם כִּי אִם־גִּבּוֹר הוּא בְּתוֹכֲכֶם׃
since you are
gseeking proof of the
hChrist who
speaks in me,
who is not
weak toward you, but
imighty in you.

כִּי אִם־גַּם־נִצְלַב בְּחֻלְשָׁה אָכֵן חַי הוּא בִּגְבוּרַת אֱלֹהִים וְאִם גַּם־חַלָּשִׁים בּוֹ אֲנַחְנוּ אָכֵן נִחְיֶה עִמּוֹ בִּגְבוּרַת אֱלֹהִים לְנֶגְדְּכֶם׃
For
indeed He was
jcrucified because of
weakness,
yet He
lives kbecause of the
power of
God. For we
too are
lweak ▼in Him,
yet nwe will
live with Him
because of the
power of
God directed toward you.

נַסּוּ־נָא אֶתְכֶם אִם־בָּאֱמוּנָה אַתֶּם בַּחֲנוּ אֶתְכֶם אוֹ הַאֵינְכֶם יֹדְעִים אֶת־נַפְשְׁכֶם כִּי יֵשׁוּעַ הַמָּשִׁיחַ בָּכֶם אִם־לֹא כִּי־נִמְאָסִים אַתֶּם׃
oTest yourselves to see if you are in the
faith;
pexamine yourselves!
Or do you not
recognize this about yourselves, that
Jesus Christ is in you -
-unless indeed you
▼ rfail the test?

אֲבָל אֲקַוֶּה כִּי תֵדְעוּ אֲשֶׁר אֲנַחְנוּ אֵינֶנּוּ נִמְאָסִים׃
But I
expect that you will
realize that we
ourselves ▼do not
fail the test.

וַאֲנִי מִתְחַנֵּן אֶל־הָאֱלֹהִים אֲשֶׁר לֹא־תַעֲשֹוּ כָל־רָע לֹא לְמַעַן נֵרָאֶה אֲנַחְנוּ נֶאֱמָנִים כִּי אִם־לְמַעַן תַּעֲשֹוּ אַתֶּם אֶת־הַטּוֹב וַאֲנַחְנוּ נִהְיֶה כְּנִמְאָסִים׃
Now we
pray to
God that you
do nothing wrong; not
so that we
ourselves may
appear approved, but that you may
do what is
right,
though we may
▼appear unapproved.

cannot do

truth, but

For we
rejoice when we
ourselves are
uweak, but you are
strong;
this we
also pray for,
▼that you
wbecome mature.

וּבַעֲבוּר זֹאת כָּתַבְתִּי אֶת־אֵלֶּה בִּהְיוֹתִי בְרָחוֹק לְמַעַן אֲשֶׁר־לֹא אֶצְטָרֵךְ בְּקָרְבִי אֲלֵיכֶם לְדַבֵּר אִתְּכֶם מִשְׁפָּטִים לְפִי הָרְשׁוּת אֲשֶׁר נְתָנָהּ לִי הָאָדוֹן לִבְנוֹת וְלֹא לַהֲרוֹס׃
For
this reason I am
writing these things while
absent,
so that when
present xI
need not
use yseverity,
in accordance with the
zauthority which the
Lord gave me for
building up and not for
tearing down.

aaFinally,
brothers and sisters, ▼rejoice,
acmend your
ways, be
comforted,

like-minded,

God of
love and
peace will be with you.
