אָמְנָם אֵין־צֹרֶךְ לִכְתֹּב אֲלֵיכֶם עַל־דְּבַר הַשֵּׁרוּת אֲשֶׁר לְעֶזְרַת הַקְּדשִׁים׃
For
ait is
superfluous for me to
write to you
about this bministry to the
▼▼Lit
holy ones; i.e., God’s people
saints;

כִּי יָדַעְתִּי אֶת־נְדִיבַתְכֶם אֲשֶׁר עָלֶיהָ אֲנִי מִתְהַלֵּל בָּכֶם לִפְנֵי אַנְשֵׁי מַקְדּוֹנְיָא לֵאמֹר אֲכַיָּא מוּכָנָה הִיא מִשָּׁנָה שֶׁעָבְרָה וַתָּעַר הַקִּנְאָה הַיּוֹצֵאת מִכֶּם אֶת־רוּחַ רֻבָּם׃
for I
know your
willingness, of
which I
dboast about you to the
eMacedonians,
namely, that
fAchaia has been
prepared since glast year, and your
zeal has
stirred up most of them.

אֲבָל שָׁלַחְתִּי אֶת־הָאַחִים פֶּן־תִּהְיֶה לָרִיק תְּהִלָּתֵנוּ עֲלֵיכֶם בַּדָּבָר הַזֶּה וּלְמַעַן תִּהְיוּ מוּכָנִים כַּאֲשֶׁר אָמָרְתִּי׃
But I have
sent the
brothers,
in order that our
hboasting about you may not
prove empty in
this case,
so that,

if any jMacedonians come with me and

mention you--would be
put to shame by
this confidence.

עַל־כֵּן הָיָה נָכוֹן בְּעֵינַי לְבַקֵּשׁ מִן־הָאַחִים כִּי־יְקַדְּמוּ לָלֶכֶת אֲלֵיכֶם וְיָכִינוּ אֶת־בִּרְכַתְכֶם הַמְיוּעָדָה מִלְּפָנִים לְמַעַן תִּהְיֶה מוּכֶנֶת כְּעֵין בְּרָכָה וְלֹא כְּעֵין כִּילוּת׃

considered it

urge the
kbrothers that they
go on
ahead to you and
arrange in advance your
previously promised ▼ mgenerous gift, that the
same would be
ready as a
▼ ogenerous gift, and not as
one grudgingly given due to greediness.

And
uGod is
able to
make all grace overflow to you,

Now He who
supplies xseed to the
sower and
bread for
food will
supply and
multiply your
seed for sowing and
yincrease the
harvest of your
righteousness;

all liberality,
which through us is
producing aathanksgiving to
God.

For the
ministry of
this service is not
only fully supplying abthe
needs of the

holy ones; i.e., God’s people
saints, but is
also overflowing adthrough many thanksgivings to
God.

וִיכַבְּדוּ אֶת־הָאֱלֹהִים עַל־מִשְׁמַעַת הוֹדָאַתְכֶם לִבְשׂוֹרַת הַמָּשִׁיחַ וְעַל־תֻּמַּת הִתְחַבְּרוּתְכֶם אֲלֵיהֶם וְאֶל־כֻּלָּם׃
Because of the
proof given by
this aeministry, they will
afglorify God for
your obedience to your
agconfession of the
ahgospel of
Christ and for the
liberality of your
▼contribution to them and to
all,

behalf,
yearn for you
because of the
surpassing grace of
God in you.
