וַיֹּאמֶר אַגְרִפַּס אֶל־פּוֹלוֹס נִתַּן־לְךָ לְדַבֵּר בְּעַד נַפְשֶׁךָ אָז יִצְטַדֵּק פּוֹלוֹס וַיּוֹשֶׁט אֶת־יָדוֹ וַיֹּאמַר׃
aNow Agrippa said to
Paul, “You are
permitted to
speak for
yourself.”
Then Paul extended his
hand and
proceeded to
make his
defense:

מְאֻשָּׁר אֲנִי בְּנַפְשִׁי הַמֶּלֶךְ אַגְרִפַּס כִּי לְפָנֶיךָ אֶצְטַדֵּק הַיּוֹם עַל־כֹּל אֲשֶׁר־שׂטְנִים אֹתִי הַיְּהוּדִים׃
“Regarding all the
things of
which I am
accused by the
Jews,
King Agrippa, I
consider myself fortunate that I
am about to make my
defense before you
today,

כִּי אַתָּה יֹדֵעַ הֵיטֵב כָּל־הַמִּנְהָגִים וְהַשְּׁאֵלוֹת אֲשֶׁר בֵּין הַיְּהוּדִים וְעַל־כֵּן אֶשְׁאֲלָה מֵאִתְּךָ לִשְׁמֹעַ אֹתִי כְּאֹרֶךְ רוּחֶךָ׃

because you are especially expert especially because you are an
expert in
all ccustoms and

therefore I
beg you to
listen to me
patiently.

way of life since my youth, which from the
beginning was

since they have

hope of
