וַיְהִי בְּצֵאתוֹ מִן־הַמִּקְדָּשׁ וַיֹּאמֶר אֵלָיו אֶחָד מִתַּלְמִידָיו רַבִּי רְאֵה מַה־יָּפוּ הָאֲבָנִים וְהַבִּנְיָנִים הָאֵלֶּה׃
aAs He was
going out of the
temple,
one of His
disciples *said to Him, “
Teacher,
look!
▼What wonderful stones and
▼what wonderful buildings!”

וַיַּעַן אֹתוֹ יֵשׁוּעַ וַיֹּאמַר הֲרָאִיתָ אֶת־כָּל־הַבִּנְיָנִים הַגְּדוֹלִים הָאֵלֶּה לֹא־תִשָּׁאֵר אֶבֶן עַל־אֶבֶן אֲשֶׁר לֹא תִתְפָּרָק׃
And
Jesus said to him,
“Do you see these great buildings? dNot one stone will be left upon another, which will not be torn down.”

“Tell us,
when will
these things come about, and
what will be the
▼▼I.e., confirming miracle
sign when all these things are going to be
fulfilled?”

וַיַּעַן אֹתָם יֵשׁוּעַ וַיָּחֶל לְדַבֵּר רְאוּ פֶּן־יַתְעֶה אֶתְכֶם אִישׁ׃

Jesus began to
say to them,
“See to it that no one misleads you.

כִּי רַבִּים יָבֹאוּ בִּשְׁמִי לֵאמֹר אֲנִי הוּא וְיַתְעוּ רַבִּים׃
Many will come in My name, saying, ‘ iI am He!’ and they will mislead many.

וּבְשָׁמְעֲכֶם מִלְחָמוֹת וּשְׁמֻעוֹת מִלְחָמָה אַל־תִּבָּהֵלוּ כִּי־הָיוֹ תִהְיֶה זֹאת אַךְ לֹא־זֹאת הִיא הַקֵּץ׃
When you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be alarmed; those things must take place; but that is not yet the end.

כִּי־יָקוּם גּוֹי עַל־גּוֹי וּמַמְלָכָה עַל־מַמְלָכָה וְהָיָה רַעַשׁ כֹּה וָכֹה וְהָיָה רָעָב וּמְהוּמָה׃
For nation will rise up against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; there will be earthquakes in various places; there will also be famines. These things are only the beginning of birth pains.

אֵלֶּה רֵאשִׁית הַחֲבָלִים וְאַתֶּם הִשָּׁמְרוּ בְנַפְשֹׁתֵיכֶם כִּי־יִמְסְרוּ אֶתְכֶם לְסַנְהֶדְרִיּוֹת וְהֻכֵּיתֶם בְּבָתֵּי כְנֵסִיּוֹת וְלִפְנֵי משְׁלִים וּמְלָכִים תּוּבָאוּ לְמַעֲנִי לְעֵדוּת לָהֶם׃
“But ▼be on your guard; for they will khand you over to the ▼▼Or
Sanhedrin; or
Council courts, and you will be flogged min the synagogues, and you will stand before governors and kings for My sake, as a testimony to them.

וְהַבְּשׂוֹרָה צְרִיכָה לְהִקָּרֵא בָרִאשׁוֹנָה לְכָל־הַגּוֹיִם׃
nAnd the gospel must first be preached to all the nations.

וְכַאֲשֶׁר יוֹלִיכוּ וּמָסְרוּ אֶתְכֶם אַל־תִּדְאֲגוּ וְאַל־תְּחַשְּׁבוּ מַה־תְּדַבֵּרוּ כִּי הַדָּבָר אֲשֶׁר יִנָּתֵן לָכֶם בַּשָּׁעָה הַהִיא אוֹתוֹ דַבֵּרוּ יַעַן לֹא־אַתֶּם הֵם הַמְדַבְּרִים כִּי אִם־רוּחַ הַקֹּדֶשׁ׃
oAnd when they ▼arrest you and hand you over, do not worry beforehand about what you are to say, but say whatever is given you at that time; for you are not the ones speaking, but it is the Holy Spirit.

וְאָח יִמְסֹר אֶת־אָחִיו לַמָּוֶת וְאָב אֶת־בְּנוֹ וְקָמוּ בָנִים בַּאֲבוֹתָם וְהֵמִיתוּ אוֹתָם׃
And brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child; and children will rise up against parents and ▼have them put to death.

וִהְיִיתֶם שְׂנוּאִים לְכָל־אָדָם לְמַעַן שְׁמִי וְהַמְחַכֶּה עַד־עֵת קֵץ הוּא יִוָּשֵׁעַ׃
And ryou will be hated by everyone because of My name, but it is the one who has endured to the end who will be saved.

וְכִי תִרְאוּ אֶת־שִׁקּוּץ מְשֹׁמֵם הַנֶּאֱמָר בְּיַד דָּנִיֵּאל הַנָּבִיא עֹמֵד בַּמָּקוֹם אֲשֶׁר לֹא־לוֹ הַקּוֹרֵא יָבִין אָז נוֹס יָנוּסוּ אַנְשֵׁי יְהוּדָה אֶל־הֶהָרִים׃
“Now swhen you see the tabomination of desolation standing where it should not be-- ▼▼Or
the reader is to understand let the ▼▼I.e., of the book of Daniel
reader understand --then those who are in Judea must flee to the mountains.

ai and the stars will be falling from heaven, and the powers that are in the heavens will be shaken.

וְאָז יִרְאוּ אֶת־בֶּן־הָאָדָם בָּא בַעֲנָנִים בִּגְבוּרָה רַבָּה וּבְכָבוֹד׃
And then they will see ajthe Son of Man akcoming in clouds with great power and glory.

וְאָז יִשְׁלַח אֶת־מַלְאָכָיו וִיקַבֵּץ אֶת־בְּחִירָיו מֵאַרְבַּע הָרוּחוֹת מִקְצֵה הָאָרֶץ עַד־קְצֵה הַשָּׁמָיִם׃
And then He will send forth the angels, and alwill gather together His ▼elect from the four winds, anfrom the end of the earth to the end of heaven.

לִמְדוּ־נָא אֶת־מְשַׁל הַתְּאֵנָה כְּשֶׁיִּרְטַב עֲנָפָהּ וּפָרַח עָלֶהָ יְדַעְתֶּם כִּי קָרוֹב הַקָּיִץ׃
“Now learn the parable from the fig tree: as soon as its branch has become tender and sprouts its leaves, you know that summer is near.

כֵּן אַף־אַתֶּם בִּרְאֹתְכֶם כִּי־הָיוּ כָל־אֵלֶּה דְּעוּ כִּי־קָרוֹב הוּא לַפָּתַח׃
So you too, when you see these things happening, ▼recognize that ▼He is near, right at the ▼door.

Truly I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place.

הַשָּׁמַיִם וְהָאָרֶץ יַעֲבֹרוּ וּדְבָרַי לֹא יַעֲבֹרוּן׃
Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will not pass away.

arBut about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone.

at It is like a man away on a journey, who upon leaving his house and ▼▼Lit
giving the authority to putting his slaves in charge, assigning to each one his task, also commanded the doorkeeper to stay alert.
