aThen Jesus was
led up by the
Spirit into the

tempted by the
devil.

And
ethe
tempter came and
said to Him, “
If You are the

God,
command that
these stones become bread.”

“It is written: ‘ gMan shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes out of the mouth of God.’”

Jesus said to him,
“ ▼On the other hand, it is written: ‘ kYou shall not put the Lord your God to the test.’”

Then Jesus *said to him,
“Go away, Satan! For it is written: ‘ oYou shall worship the Lord your God, and ▼▼Or
fulfill religious duty to Him serve Him only.’”

Capernaum, which is by the

Jesus was

Galilee,
akteaching in their
synagogues and
alproclaiming the

kingdom, and
anhealing every disease and
every sickness among the
people.

And the
news about Him
spread aothroughout Syria; and they
brought to Him
all who were
ill, those
suffering with
various diseases and
severe pain,
apdemon-possessed,
people with aqepilepsy, and
people who were
arparalyzed; and He
healed them.

Large crowds asfollowed Him from
Galilee and
atthe Decapolis, and
Jerusalem, and
Judea, and
from aubeyond the
Jordan.
