‏ Daniel 2:13

13And when the decree had gone forth, the wise men were put to death; and Daniel and his companions were sought, to be destroyed.
2:13The verb “interficiebantur” does not merely mean to kill someone. It implies that the killing has been officially ordered or sanctioned, as in an execution, where a criminal is put to death. This word is not generally used to refer to murder.(Conte)
