The royal officer mocked the power of God, Who in grace made this promise. It was the same language of the mocker who says: “Where is the promise of His coming?” ( ). Only judgment can fall on this man, and it will come. Every mocker will be brought to the conviction of the truth of God’s Word. But then it will be too late to repent.
