These promises are based on the Old Testament principle that blessing is given by God when the people obey, just as the curse comes upon them when they disobey ( ). Their stay in the land, their freedom from disease, earthly blessings in every form and shape, it all depends on their behavior toward the statutes and precepts they have received from God. They have also committed themselves to this ( ).
