The day of the LORD will be a very special day. It is a day of judgment over the wicked, a day when all light is absent for them (Zec 14:6; Joel 3:15; Eze 32:7-8; Mt 24:29; Rev 6:12). There is only thick darkness for them (Amos 5:18).

It is a unique day known only to the LORD (Zec 14:7). This day does not begin with light, but with darkness and ends not with darkness, but with light.
