1 Corinthians 7:29
v. 29-31: Paul encourages all Christians to approach life with a sense of holy detachment. He reminds them that the time is short and the fashion of this world is passing away (1 Corinthians 7:29, 31 a). He tells those who are married to live as though they are not overly dependent on their spouse, and those who weep or rejoice to not let their emotions overtake them. Even those who buy or use the world’s resources should do so as though they are not permanent. Paul wants them to focus on eternal things rather than temporary ones.
