He explains that the Jewish priests were supported by the temple offerings, and in the same way, the Lord hath ordained that they which preach the gospel should live of the gospel (1 Corinthians 9:14 ). Ministers have a right to be supported, but they can choose not to claim this right if it would harm the gospel's message.
