‏ 1 Corinthians 9:25

v. 25: He explains that “Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training”(1 Corinthians 9:25 a). Athletes are careful about what they eat and how they live because they want to win a prize that fades away. Christians, though, are running for a crown that will never fade. Paul says that if athletes can train so hard for something temporary, Christians should be even more disciplined for something eternal. He encourages them to follow his example and give up things that might stop them from reaching their goal.
