‏ 1 Corinthians 9:7

v. 7-9: Paul uses examples from daily life to prove his point. He asks, Who goeth a warfare at any time at his own charge? Who planteth a vineyard, and eateth not of the fruit? Or who feedeth a flock, and eateth not of the milk? (1 Corinthians 9:7 a). Soldiers are paid, farmers enjoy the fruit of their labor, and shepherds benefit from the milk of their flocks. He then refers to the law of Moses, which says, Thou shalt not muzzle the ox that treadeth out the corn (1 Corinthians 9:9; Deuteronomy 25:4 b). This law teaches that workers, whether humans or animals, should benefit from their labor. Paul explains that this principle applies to ministers too.
