‏ 1 Peter 4:3

v. 3: Peter reminds believers that they have already spent enough time living like unbelievers, doing what pleases the world. Now, it is only fair and right to live for God. He lists several sins common among the Gentiles: lasciviousness (shameful behavior) (Romans 13:13 a), lusts (sexual sins), excess of wine (drinking too much), revellings (wild parties), banquetings (gluttony), and abominable idolatries (worshiping idols with evil practices). Christians must avoid not only obvious sins but also anything that might lead to sin or looks sinful. Even things like overeating and drinking too much are to be avoided, along with idolatry and immorality.
