‏ 1 Samuel 31:3-4

v. 3-4: Saul was badly wounded by arrows. He was afraid the Philistines would capture and hurt him, so he asked his armor-bearer to kill him (1 Samuel 31:3-4 a). But the armor-bearer was too afraid. Saul then killed himself by falling on his sword. He was more worried about his body being mistreated than about his soul and meeting God (Ecclesiastes 12:7 b). Saul died without hope or faith, showing us the danger of a life that ends without trusting God.
