‏ 1 Thessalonians 2:4

v. 4: He says, But as we were allowed of God to be put in trust with the gospel, even so we speak; not as pleasing men, but God, which trieth our hearts (1 Thessalonians 2:4 a). They saw themselves as stewards or caretakers of God’s message. Their aim was to please God, who knows every thought and motive, not just to make people happy (Galatians 1:10 b).
