‏ 2 Corinthians 5:21

v. 21: Paul concludes with a powerful statement about Christ’s sacrifice: For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him(2 Corinthians 5:21 a). Jesus, who was sinless, took on the punishment for sin so that believers could be made righteous before God. This exchange—Christ taking our sin and giving us His righteousness—is the foundation of our reconciliation with God. It reminds us that salvation is entirely through Jesus and His work on the cross.
