‏ 2 Kings 25:26

v. 26: The people became afraid that the Babylonians would punish them for Gedaliah’s death. Instead of staying, they ran away to Egypt, even though Jeremiah warned them not to go. In Egypt, they mixed with the people there and were never heard of as a nation again (2 Kings 25:26 a). This fulfilled the warning: The Lord shall bring you into Egypt again (Deuteronomy 28:68 b). More details about these events can be found in Jeremiah chapters 40 to 45 (Jeremiah 40–45 c).
