2 Peter 2:7
Divine JudgmentsThis section explains how God protects righteous people even when He punishes the wicked. The example of Lot, who lived in Sodom, shows that a godly person can be troubled by the evil around them. God knows how to rescue those who trust Him and how to punish those who do evil. This is meant to encourage believers facing difficult times and to remind them that God judges everyone rightly.v. 7: God delivered Lot, who was a just man. Lot was upset and troubled by the evil behavior of the people living in Sodom. Although he lived among them, he did not join in their wickedness but tried to live rightly. God sees the overall direction of a person’s life, not just one action, and Lot’s life was different from those around him (2 Peter 2:7 a).
