He says, having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it (Colossians 2:15 ). Jesus defeated Satan and all evil spirits by His death and resurrection. He showed the whole world that He is the true conqueror, just as God promised that the Messiah would crush the serpent’s head (Genesis 3:15 ). Christ turned His suffering on the cross into a victory parade, showing that He is stronger than all the powers of darkness.
