Deuteronomy 18:6-8
vv. 6-8: If a Levite wanted to serve at the sanctuary more than what was required, he was allowed to, and he could share in the offerings just like those whose regular turn it was (v. 6-8 a). No one should be jealous or try to stop him. He could also keep the income from his family property. This showed that God welcomes anyone who truly wants to serve Him, and that serving God is not meant to be used for personal gain. – –
