‏ Deuteronomy 22:6

v. 6-7: If someone found a bird’s nest with the mother bird sitting on eggs or chicks, they could take the young but must let the mother bird go. This command teaches kindness to animals and respect for life. God cares even for small creatures (Luke 12:6 a). Keeping this law brought a promise of blessing and a long life, just like honoring parents (1 Corinthians 9:9 b). It also reminds people not to be cruel or take advantage of others’ natural affection, whether animals or people.
