‏ Esther 10:1

The Glory of Mordecai.

This final section highlights the greatness of King Ahasuerus and Mordecai. The king’s power and wealth brought him glory, but it is Mordecai’s virtue and goodness that are remembered most. Mordecai’s rise shows how God honors those who serve Him faithfully. He used his position not for personal gain but for the good of his people, becoming a model of humility, wisdom, and kindness.

v. 1-2: King Ahasuerus was very powerful, ruling over a vast empire. He collected great wealth, including an additional tax on his subjects for a special purpose (Esther 10:1 a). His many acts of power were recorded in the Persian chronicles (Esther 10:2 b), but those records are long gone. In contrast, the story of God’s kingdom and His people remains in the Bible, which will last forever (Psalm 9:6; Daniel 2:44 c).
