God often gives early signs that He will use someone for a special purpose, as He did with Samson (Judg. 13:24,25 ), Samuel (1 Sam. 2:18 ), and David (1 Sam. 17:37 ), and Timothy (1 Tim. 3:15 ). Moses’ parents acted in faith, trusting God’s promise for Israel (Heb. 11:23 ). Like Jesus, Moses was hidden as a baby to escape a ruler’s cruelty (Matt. 2:13 ).
