‏ Exodus 32:6

v. 6: Early the next day, the people made sacrifices, ate, drank, and then began to "play." This likely involved wild dancing and behavior similar to the pagan celebrations they had seen in Egypt. Their worship quickly turned into a party that dishonored God. Paul refers to this episode, saying, "The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play" (1 Corinthians 10:7 a).
