Ezekiel 12:3-7
v. 3–7: Ezekiel obeys God’s command and acts out the sign. He packs his things and digs through the wall in the sight of the people, carrying his belongings on his shoulder as the sun sets. The people watch him, but do not understand what he is doing. God tells Ezekiel that this sign is for the prince in Jerusalem and all the people there. Just as Ezekiel is acting out, so will the prince and the people try to escape, but they will be caught and taken into exile. The prince will be blinded and led away to Babylon, and the people will be scattered among the nations (Ezekiel 12:8-16 a). – – – –
