‏ Genesis 23:12-13

v. 12-13: Abraham bowed again and insisted on paying for the field and cave (Genesis 23:12-13 a). He wanted to do what was right, not take advantage of Ephron’s kindness. Abraham understood that paying for the land would avoid future problems or questions about ownership (Job 31:39; 2 Samuel 24:24 b).
