‏ Hebrews 13:10-12

v. 10: He says, “We have an altar, whereof they have no right to eat which serve the tabernacle” (Hebrews 13:10 a). Christians have a spiritual “altar” in Jesus that is better than the old sacrifices of the Jewish law. Those who only follow the old ways cannot share in the blessings Jesus gives.

v. 11–12: He explains, “For the bodies of those beasts, whose blood is brought into the sanctuary by the high priest for sin, are burned without the camp. Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered without the gate” (Hebrews 13:11–12 b). In the Old Testament, animal sacrifices were burned outside the camp; in the same way, Jesus suffered outside the city to make people holy through His blood.
