Hebrews 8:8-9
– v. 9: The old covenant was made with the ancestors of the Jewish people at Mount Sinai. Moses was the Mediator then. God cared for them and led them out of Egypt. But the people did not stay faithful to the covenant. Because of this, God stopped protecting them. God promises to be close to those who keep his covenant, but he turns away from those who reject it .
