Jeremiah 29:16
v. 16, 18: Jeremiah warned that those left in Jerusalem, including the king and the people, would not be there to welcome the exiles back. Instead, they would face disaster after disaster—sword, famine, and pestilence(Jeremiah 29:16, 18 a). Many would die, and the survivors would be scattered to many kingdoms. God would treat them like rotten figs, which are thrown away because they are useless (Jeremiah 24:1-10 b).
