Jer 50:4-5 | MHM | STEP | v. 4–5 : God promises that His people—Israel and Judah—will return to Him. They will seek the Lord with sorrow and repentance. They will look for the way to Zion, the holy city, and will make a new promise to follow God forever. Their tears will come from true sorrow for their sins and joy for God’s mercy. They will ask for the way and set their hearts on returning to God, making a covenant that will never be broken (Jeremiah 50:4-5; 1 Samuel 7:2 ; Luke 2:48 ).
