John 11:8
v. 8: Jesus explained plainly, "Lazarus is dead, and for your sake I am glad I was not there, so that you may believe. But let us go to him" (John 11:14-15 a). Jesus allows difficult things to happen to help us grow in faith. Thomas, also called Didymus, boldly said to the other disciples, "Let us also go, that we may die with him" (John 11:16 b), showing both his courage and his misunderstanding of what was about to happen. In summary, this passage teaches us about the love and power of Jesus, his patience in waiting for God’s timing, and how he uses even sorrow and loss to bring about greater faith and reveal God's glory.
