Judg 5:7 | MHM | STEP | v. 7, 9 : Deborah praises God for raising up leaders to help Israel. She herself became “a mother in Israel” ( Till I Deborah arose , Judges 5:7 ). She worked hard to protect the people and bring peace back to the land. Other leaders, called governors, also helped by joining in the fight when it was needed (Judges 5:9 ). Deborah loved and honored these leaders because they were willing to serve God and the people, even though they could have stayed safe in their important positions.
