Leviticus 10:19
v. 19: Aaron replies for his sons. He explains that, because of the great sadness and trouble after his other sons died, he did not feel it was right to eat the sin-offering. He was afraid God would not accept it if he ate while mourning. Aaron was more concerned about God accepting the offering than about following the rule exactly. He wanted to do what was right in God’s eyes, not just follow the ceremony (Leviticus 10:19; Hosea 9:4 a; Malachi 3:14 b).
