v. 25: If the owner could not buy back the land, the nearest relative (called a “kinsman redeemer”) could do it. This points forward to Jesus Christ, who is our Redeemer and restores what we have lost because of sin (Leviticus 25:25; Numbers 5:8 ^b; Ruth 3:9; Job 19:25 ^c).
