‏ Leviticus 4:17

v. 17: The priest must sprinkle the blood of the sin-offering seven times before the Lord (v. 17 a). Sprinkling, rather than pouring, shows how Christ’s blood cleanses us. Seven times means the cleansing is complete and perfect. The blood is also put on the horns of the incense altar, which connects to other Bible passages that talk about sin or forgiveness at the altar (Isaiah 52:15; Jeremiah 17:1 b; Revelation 9:13 c). This reminds us that true forgiveness comes only through Christ’s sacrifice.
