He was a good and just man, respected by everyone. Joseph was a member of the Jewish council, but he had not agreed with their decision to condemn Jesus. Instead, he was waiting for the kingdom of God, believing the promises about the Messiah (Luke 23:50-51 ). Joseph’s actions show that sometimes people who do not speak much about their faith may still do great things for Jesus when the time comes.
