‏ Matthew 26:33

v. 33: Peter spoke up and said, “Though all men shall be offended because of thee, yet will I never be offended” (Matthew 26:33 a). Peter was very confident and thought he was stronger than the others. He promised he would never leave Jesus, not just that night, but ever. If Peter had made this promise while depending on Jesus’ strength, it would have been good. But he was too sure of himself and thought he could not fall, even if others did. We should not think we are safe from temptation just because others fall (Galatians 6:1 b).
