‏ Nehemiah 12:47

v. 47: All Israel, both under Zerubbabel and Nehemiah, regularly gave what belonged to the singers and gatekeepers, making sure everyone received their daily portion. The people also set apart holy gifts for the Levites, and the Levites gave a tenth of those gifts to the priests, as the law commanded. This act of setting apart and giving was called “sanctifying” the gifts. When people give for God’s work with the right attitude, it honors God and brings His blessing on the whole community (Nehemiah 12:47; Ezekiel 44:30 a).
