Numbers 17:1-5
Numbers 17:1 – The Blossoming of Aaron's Rod This section describes God’s plan to end the arguments about who should be priest. God commanded each tribe to bring a rod with the leader’s name on it. These rods would be placed in the tabernacle, and God would use a miracle to show which man He had chosen for the priesthood. This event was meant to settle the dispute once and for all and to stop the people from complaining against God’s chosen leaders.v. 1-5: God told Moses to collect a rod from each tribe, with the leader’s name written on it. Aaron’s name was written on the rod for Levi. All the rods were to be placed in the tabernacle, in front of the ark. God said the rod belonging to the man He chose would blossom, making it clear whom He wanted as priest (Num. 17:1-5 a). This miracle would prove God’s choice and silence those who kept complaining. – – – –
