Num 25:18 | MHM | STEP | v. 18 : The reason for attacking the Midianites was that they had deceived and troubled Israel with their tricks, especially by tempting them to commit immorality and idolatry (Numbers 25:18 ). God wanted this sin to be remembered and punished, just like the attack by the Amalekites was remembered and judged (Exodus 17:14 ). God will always judge those who tempt others to sin.
