The Difference Between Wisdom and Foolishness

This section explains how wise people stay focused and use their wisdom in daily life. In contrast, foolish people let their minds wander and cannot concentrate on important things.

v. 24: A truly intelligent person keeps his wisdom before him; it is always ready to guide him, like a card or compass helps a traveler. He pays close attention to wisdom and uses it whenever needed . On the other hand, a foolish person cannot focus. His eyes are in the ends of the earth—he is always distracted, thinking about many things that do not matter. Because he cannot fix his thoughts or stick to one goal, he is not able to do anything important (Proverbs 17:24 a).
