Psa 11:6 | MHM | STEP | v. 6 : God is holy and hates evil. The Lord tests the righteous, but the wicked and the one who loves violence his soul hates (Psalm 11:5 ). The wicked may seem to succeed for a while, but God will punish them. Upon the wicked he shall rain snares, fire and brimstone, and a horrible tempest . This is like what happened to Sodom and Gomorrah (Jude 7 ). The punishment is certain and terrible, like a storm of fire that no one can escape. This is the cup that the wicked must drink, while those who choose God will have joy forever (Psalm 16:5 ).
